A team of scientists from the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE), Bengaluru, has discovered two new species of rare solitary bees in Arunachal Pradesh. Discovered during the recent Siang Expedition, the findings—published in the European Journal of Taxonomy—not only expand India’s documented biodiversity but also highlight the pressing need to safeguard the rapidly changing habitats of the Eastern Himalayan region.
