The genus Parastrachia Distant, 1883 has long been associated with taxonomic uncertainty within Pentatomoidea and comprises two species: Parastrachia japonensis (Scott, 1880) and Parastrachia nagaensis Distant, 1908. In this study, P. nagaensis is rediscovered from Nagaland (India) and re-examined for its taxonomic identity using additional evidence based on integrative taxonomy by combining morphology and molecular data. Detailed morphology, digital illustration of male and female genitalia and notes on the occurrence and aggregation behaviour are provided. To further evaluate the taxonomic identity and phylogenetic placement of P. nagaensis, two mitochondrial genes (COI and 16S) were sequenced and analysed using Maximum Likelihood and Bayesian phylogenetic inference, which generated congruent topologies. In addition, species delimitation analyses were conducted to clarify species boundaries, which recovered P. nagaensis and P. japonensis as distinct species. Based on the integrative approach, additional evidence for the confirmation of identity of P. nagaensis are provided and discussed about its host plants.
