Ashish is a native of Bhagalpur, Bihar and earned his Bachelor’s degree with a focus on agricultural engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya (JNKVV), Jabalpur. Subsequently, he pursued his Master of Technology from the Department of Hydrology at Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. To further his academic pursuits, he completed his doctoral degree in the Department of Civil Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.

Post-Ph.D., Ashish assumed the role of Principal Project Scientist in the Water Resource Department at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, demonstrating his commitment to the field. Thereafter, he moved to Canada for his postdoctoral research at the University of Guelph. Upon the completion of his postdoctoral research, he took on the position of Senior Hydrologist with CSEI-ATREE and WELL Lab. He also contributed his expertise as a Subject Matter Expert in Hydrology at Vassar Labs, Hyderabad.

His specialization lies in surface and ground water hydrology, and is keen on integrating cutting-edge trends and technologies, such as remote sensing and machine learning, into the domains of hydrological and agricultural planning at both local and regional levels. He has scientific publications in various reputed journals such as Journal of Hydrology, International journal of river basin management etc. He has also presented his research work in various national and international reputed conferences.

In his capacity as a water researcher, he is strongly interested in interdisciplinary work with his primary focus being directed towards the development of solutions underpinned by scientific rigor, precisely tailored to address the challenges encountered by individuals facing water security concerns.
