From research to real-world impact, here is some of what we do.
We identify and document species in fragile ecosystems. By bridging knowledge gaps, we enhance conservation efforts and influence environmental policies.
Our PhD, MSc and certificate programmes emphasise interdisciplinary and hands-on learning, equipping students with skills to address India’s environmental challenges in various capacities.
Our action-oriented research on community-based conservation is anchored in our Community Conservation Centres (CCCs). These centres integrate research-driven conservation efforts within local communities, bridging grassroots knowledge with scientific insights and empowering local leadership.
We restore degraded ecosystems by reviving forests, grasslands, lakes and farmlands. Our efforts address habitat loss and invasive species management to rebuild biodiversity.
We promote climate resilience through nature-based solutions. By strengthening agriculture, restoring degraded land and protecting biodiversity, we assist communities in adapting to climate change.
We support sustainable livelihoods by assisting communities in developing forest-based enterprises. We improve markets and promote value-added products to ensure that conservation and economic growth go hand in hand.
