Smrithi Gnaneshwar is a Project Consultant for the Site Specific Portals project at the Ecoinformatics Lab, where she is working on developing AI-powered digital tools to improve access to environmental and agricultural information. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Data Science and Analytics and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

Her work focuses on designing multilingual WhatsApp chatbots that deliver region-specific knowledge to rural communities. She is currently developing conversational AI systems for projects across the Biligiri Rangana Hills (Karnataka) and the Sikkim-Darjeeling region, working on prompt design and optimization ,  building retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, evaluating chatbot performance, integrating external APIs, and curating multilingual knowledge bases.

Smrithi’s interests lie at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and ecology, with an emphasis on transforming research knowledge into accessible digital solutions.
