His current work focuses on the ecology and restoration of grassland ecosystems in Tamil Nadu. He specialises in grass taxonomy, with particular expertise in Grass seed micromorphology study. He is also involved in projects on the ecology and conservation of grassland-dependent birds and mammals, and on plant phenology in KMTR.
