Yamuna holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from Kerala Technical University and a Master’s degree in Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Bangalore. She has undertaken diverse research projects with a focus on sustainability and conservation. Her work includes evaluating the efficacy of Moringa oleifera in wastewater treatment as a sustainable alternative, and study on oil extraction from Mesosphaerum suaveolens to explore eco-friendly replacements for harmful insecticides. At  ATREE, she contributed to identifying priority regions for freshwater molluscs in the Western Ghats, supporting biodiversity conservation. She is currently working as a Project Associate under Dr. Aravind N.A., continuing her efforts in ecological and environmental research.
