Croton euryphyllus W.W.Sm. (Euphorbiaceae) is reported here as a new distributional record for India from the Longding District of Arunachal Pradesh. The species was encountered during an ethnobotanical survey of the Wancho tribe, where it is primarily grown as a natural fence and traditionally used to stupefy fishes for catching. This record extends the known distribution of C. euryphyllus from Yunnan, China, to northeastern India. A comprehensive morphological description, habitat details, and ethnobotanical relevance with the Wancho tribal community. In addition, probable means of migration of the species from Yunnan to Patkai Hills also has been discussed.
