We are preparing a ‘Checklist of India’s Plants’ that includes 22,000 species plants belonging to Ferns (Pteridophytes), Gymnosperms and flowering plants. Each plant name will have the accepted plant name followed by associated names (basionyms, synonyms, name of the source, etc.). Each plant name will be connected with other portals where the species has been scientifically accepted. It is a collaborative research project with a national and international team of acclaimed taxonomists and systematic botanists, which will lead to the preparation of 13 volumes of “Plant Checklist of India”. The outputs will be available online and as printed copies.
