Surya’s primary focus is on the systematics of South Asian reptiles and Amphibians, and make taxonomic illustrations of snakes. He has also been part of several new descriptions of reptiles and natural history notes. Apart from reptiles, he is interested in molluscan systematics, natural history and phylogeny. He is also a naturalist who likes to spend a substantial amount of time in the field.
