Malavika Narayana is a wildlife ecologist with over a decade of experience in advancing conservation efforts across India and Liberia. Her work blends ecological science with insights from psychology and social systems to design impactful, community-centered conservation strategies. With a PhD in Behavioral Ecology, Malavika has led diverse programs in roles ranging from biodiversity monitoring specialist to landscape manager- each deepening her commitment to integrative, place-based conservation.
Malavika’s expertise lies in community-led natural resource management, transboundary conservation, and inclusive stakeholder engagement. She is also skilled in designing and managing programs, developing strategic communications, and leading cross-sector collaborations.
Rooted in the belief that effective conservation must reflect both ecological realities and social dynamics, she works to bridge research and practice. Her approach emphasizes co-creation with communities to foster lasting biodiversity outcomes, equitable resource governance, and more resilient human-nature relationships.
