Jaya Peter believes in stories as a way to communicate. She began her career writing and directing stories for a popular TV programme called ‘Surabhi” on Doordarshan. She went on to direct three documentaries for Ford Foundation on the indigenous people of Bihar and Chattisgarh.Over the last fifteen years, Jaya has worked as the creative director, brand strategy and communication in broadcast Media houses Star TV, Sahara Manoranjan, Sony, Viacom 18 and Mazhavil Manorama.
She was involved in creating the brand strategy for IPL season 2 and 3 and directing on-air and off-air campaigns for SONY MAX which won the gold at world Pomax award for best script, best sports promo.
She took a break from her career in TV to pursue her interest in wildlife, enrolling in a course on butterflies and another in ornithology from BNHS. She occasionally writes articles on travel and wildlife for newspapers and magazines.
