Anita Arjundas is the Executive Director at ATREE. She also serves as an Independent Board member and member of the Programme Advisory Committee of the Board of Governors, International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) and on the India Stakeholder Council of the World Economic Forum’s 1t.org.
Anita is an entrepreneurial purpose-driven leader with over three decades of experience spanning the development and private sector.
She was associated with the establishment and governance of Krea University, in its formative phase and served on the India Advisory Board of The Nature Conservancy (TNCC), since its inception. Previously, Anita was a member of the Group Executive Board at the Mahindra group and Managing Director & CEO of Mahindra Lifespaces.
Over the years, Anita has engaged with the dynamics and impact of land use change, primarily in the context of urban built environments. She served on the Steering Board of the World Economic Forum’s “Future of Urban Development & Services” and catalysed the establishment of the Mahindra TERI Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Habitats.
Her current interests lie at the intersection of biodiversity loss and multifunctional terrestrial landscapes. She is particularly interested in how rural, peri-urban, and urban landscapes can be reimagined to support ecological resilience and human well-being.
