Description

ATREE is developing a site-specific, AI-enabled chatbot for the Biligiri Rangaswamy Temple (BRT) Tiger Reserve landscape to enable communities, frontline staff, and other stakeholders to access scientifically curated knowledge for biodiversity conservation, agro-ecosystem restoration, and sustainable livelihoods. The Project Consultant will support knowledge curation, chatbot testing and rollout in the landscape, and monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL).

Responsibilities

Lead the preparation of curated source materials (research papers, grey literature, YouTube playlists/URLs) for training, testing, and refining AI models.
Support AI testing and chatbot development with the technical team and community users.
Support the design and implementation of a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) plan; lead baseline and endline assessments.
Lead the rollout of the chatbot in the BRT landscape in coordination with the project team and Development & Communications teams.
Coordinate with the Project Manager, PI, and team members to ensure timely reporting and deliverables.
Support communication and outreach strategies for BRT communities and conservation stakeholders.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Ecology, Conservation Biology, Development Studies, Social Sciences or related fields.
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in conservation or community-based projects.
Experience in knowledge curation, research synthesis, or content development.
Familiarity with chatbots, or digital platforms (preferred).
Strong coordination, documentation, and communication skills.
Willingness to travel and work in remote field locations.
Kannada/local language skills are an advantage.
