Internship –  Biodiversity Survey

Description

The Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE) is seeking enthusiastic interns for the lake restoration benchmarking study, focusing on biodiversity assessment and bird monitoring across lakes in and around Bengaluru.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to baseline biodiversity documentation while gaining hands-on experience in field based ecological surveys.

Duration: 6 months

Responsibilities

  • Conduct bird and biodiversity surveys at selected lake sites.
  • Document aquatic and riparian flora and fauna.
  • Assist in compiling species checklists and biodiversity indices.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (completed or ongoing) in Ecology, Wildlife Biology, Environmental Science, or related fields.
  • Prior experience or strong interest in bird identification and field ecology.
  • Willingness to conduct early morning fieldwork.
  • Good observation, data recording, and communication skills.
