Online training programme 'Ecosystem Approaches to Food and Water Security for Rural Wellbeing - Western Himalayan Region'

The proposed workshop on Ecosystem Services scheduled to be held between 9th-21st December 2020 is the second of two proposed workshops on Ecosystem Services in the Himalayan region. The workshops aim at building the capacity of participants in integrating considerations of ecosystem services for human wellbeing in the context of a changing climate. The first workshop was conducted in September 2018 and focused on the Eastern Himalayan region, and the second workshop will focus on the Western Himalayan region.

Online Training Program -
The Science of Scientific Writing

ATREE North East conducted a 3 day online training program on "The Science of Scientific Writing", between 28th to 30th October. The program was conducted under the aegis of Department of Biotechnology funded project "Bioresources and Sustainable Livelihoods in NorthEast India". The goal was to equip participants with tools to effectively communicate scientific data and information in the written medium.

"Framing Climate Change within a Broader Environmentalism” from the webinar series organised by Teachers Against Climate Crisis on 5 Oct 2020 

“What Kind of Economy Do We Want?”, the topic of the panel discussion at the Ecological Society -ATREE Prakash Gole Memorial Series on "Understanding Reality", presented along with Ashish Kothari of Kalpavriksh and Dr Ajit Ranade from Aditya Birla Group.

"Water Conservation: Biophysical and social dimensions", a talk in Kannada presented at Sheshadripuram College, Bangalore.

"Federal Responses to Climate Change: Perspectives from India", a webinar by Asian Confluence, in association with Hanns Seidel Foundation.

Clean Water and Sanitation for All webinar

Priyanka Jamwal participated in the webinar 'Clean Water and Sanitation for all' jointly organized by India Water Works Association and National Institute of Technology Patna.
The webinar discussed the importance of SDG 6  and its role in enhancing the realisation of other SDGs. The importance of understanding the multidisciplinary nature of societal issues was also discussed.  A case study on decentralised wastewater management was presented by Dr. Jamwal to highlight the importance of circular water economy for sustaining developmental effort.
