Applied Landscape Ecology

The ATREE program in applied landscape ecology seeks to use the theory and principles of landscape ecology to:

  1. Inform conservation planning and management of biodiversity and ecosystem services at various spatial scales
  2. Build capacity of NGOs, Government, conservationists, scientists and students to imbibe the science and practice of landscape ecology in relation to problems of conserving ecosystems and ecosystem services at different spatial scales
  3. Develop tools and techniques based on remote sensing and GIS and rigorous field sampling to quantify and map biodiversity at broad spatial scales
