Research Interests
Soil and hydrologic science within the framework of ecosystem studies.
Quantifying variability and change in hydrologic processes across space and time; focusing on impacts of land-use disturbance on hydrologic processes and soil properties; analysis and modeling of hydrological processes such as precipitation, rainfall erosivity, infiltration, stream flow at various temporal and spatial scales, watershed and river basin modeling, sediment transport; time-series and geostatistical approaches; stochastic/statistical modeling of hydrologic systems; and time-series analyses and forecasting for hydrologic systems.
Ecological Sciences, GIS / RS and Applied Statistics.
Focus on impacts of land-use disturbance on hydrology, biogeochemistry and ecology of ecosystems. I would like to work on long-term plots and short term field experiments that will provide a basis for management interventions.
I am also interested in the use of GIS / remote sensing tools to study landscape ecology, vegetation mapping, sustainable land-use and protected area management. In applied statistics, I am particularly interested in the application of modern statistical techniques including spatial, time-series and Bayesian approaches in ecological, environmental and hydrological context.
I would like to collaborate with scientists, engineers and land-use managers in analyzing long-term impacts of climate and land-use change on ecology, hydrology and climatology. In addition I would like to contribute to better management of natural resources based on scientific data and understanding of ecological processes.
