BELL PINS and ATREE Conservation Leadership Award for Tampiraparani landscape






Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE) and Indrani Chelladhurai Charities have constituted the BELL PINS_ATREE award for Conservation Leadership. This award is given for the second time this year and will be given on October 4th, 2017. The award ceremony and Public Talk on Conservation of Nature will be held at the District Science Center, Tirunelveli. The public talk will be given by OSAI K. Kalidasan, President, OSAI Trust, Coimbatore a renowned personality from the field of Conservation.

BELLPINS_ATREE award will be given to an individual or an organization who have made an outstanding contribution to conservation action, environmental education or outreach from the Tirunelveli and Thoothukudi districts. The award
comprises of a cash award with a citation.

A five member selection panel representing members of Tamil Nadu Forest Department, District administration of Tirunelveli & Thoothukudi districts and Civil Society groups apart from one member each from ATREE and Bellpins, will identify the awardee each year. We welcome nominations of both individuals and organizations from Tirunelveli & Thoothukudi districts for the award.

ABOUT

BELL PINS:

The BELL group of campanies was established in 1952 by Mr.A. Chelladurai at Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli district. The name comes from the Tamil word Mani which was the second name of founder’s mother Mrs. Nesamani. Initailly started with less than 10 employees, has progressed rapidly under his leadership to manufacture office stationary products such as office pins, clips, staples including safety pins and later diversified to a wider range of products such as RCC pipes, steel wires, including printing and packaging. Besides, BEL PINS has a school, a college and a hospital to serve the needs of the society .
